How’d he come up with this stuff,
That’s what I’m a wonderin’?
was he just sittin around one day,
Watchin’ the clouds and listenin’ to it thunderin’
He must of said to himself I think I’ll make a planet,
And some stars.
Yea that’s right, that’s what I’m gonna do.
And some planes and little toy cars.
Now let me see,
What in the heck could a planet be.
I think I’ll make it round and pretty big.
And throw in some water.
But now that I think on it,
What could water be?
I’m gonna make me some trees
Full of bananas and fruit
And some toy trains
That go ruty-tut-tut.
I like to have a good time,
Isn’t life grand.
It’s one of the best things I have done.
I just sat down and made out a plan.
Hey Jesus come look at this!
I call it a cobra,
and listen,
It goes hiss!
Gonna make me some elephants
And a giraffe with a long neck.
And some tourist to look at ‘em.
Gonna make me a movie and call it Star Trek.
I think I’ll call my planet a world.
World. That’s sounds pretty good don’t you think?
That’s exactly what I’ll call it.
Let me tell you, when I get this done,
you won’t know what to think.
I really like makin’ stuff,
It’s better than beer.
Boy this is fun!
I made the world in six days and then I shed a tear.
I’m gonna make me some babies
But now I’m a wonderin’,
How in the world would they get there.
I’m have trouble with this one,
Now I’m a blunderin’.
This is a man and I made him from dirt.
Of course he’s naked,
There’s nothin wrong with that.
So if he gets cold, I suppose I’ll just give him a plaid shirt.
Now this is Adam and this is Eve
I call them people.
No, it wasn’t magic.
Really, I had nothin’ up my sleeve.
So listen to me Adam and listen to me Eve,
I’ve made a garden and it’s green and lush.
Your gonna love it there and have a good time,
Let me tell it’s really plush .
There’s a bunch of stuff for you guys to eat,
There’s apples a pears and bananas and plums.
And later on I think I’ll throw in a little boy,
Playin’ the drums.
Now there’s a tree in my garden
from which I don’t want you folks to eat.
Cause if you do,
I’m gonna throw you out in the street.
If you touch this tree,
It‘s really gonna be hacked me off
Straighten up you shoulders Adam,
Look at me,
and don’t scoff.
And I guess you’d say that I’m turning back to a narrative again.
You’ve listened to God and what he had to say.
I hope they don‘t read this in language arts class.
Cause for my bad rhymes I‘m sure that I‘ll pay.
So now we all know,
We’re no longer a wounderin”
God just sat around makein stuff up,
He was just watchin’ the clouds and listenin’ to it thunderin’
That’s what I’m a wonderin’?
